Taught underprivileged children how to present themselves and hold their heads high in the society
Our students were elder to us; this fact alone gave us the creeps at first. But the moment we entered the room, our views changed. We realised how much of our help those teens needed. We were given the responsibility of grooming them with respect to dressing sense, hairstyles and speech. But that would be the next step. They were lacking in hygiene, so we had to teach them to be hygienic... And in less than three days, there was drastic change in them. The head of the Institution(who took up the project and hired us) himself came up and congratulated me and my two companions. We worked with the students for one whole week and the results were more than gratifying. When we took our certificates on the last day and went home, they were almost in tears to see us go. They were a self-centred before; poverty makes people acquire such selfish traits. But they learnt to care enough by the end of the week and cry to see us bid them farewell. As I was on my way home, I felt as if i heard angels singing "Hallelujah" all around me!
